We Moved: RantsbyGbemi becomes ThisAdultLife
“Look around you. Everything changes. Everything on this earth is in a continuous state of evolving, refining, improving, adapting, enhancing, and changing. You were not put on this earth to remain stagnant.” Dr. Steve Maraboli
Hello and Welcome.
If you’re reading this, then I consider you my old friend. We’ve been on this journey together for about six years now. When I started www.rantsbygbemi.com, I didn’t have a lot of big dreams. Matter of fact, before I bought my domain, I started as a .blogpost.com website where I regularly vented and honed my writing skills. I had a little Samsung Galaxy Tab that I blogged on and I would vent about a lot of random things – mostly about the state of the nation. I’d share links to my blog on my BBM status (because I was, and I’m still shy about putting my work out there) and urge my contacts to read and share. Then things started to change.
I was going through a growth phase that pushed all my limits and then rantsbygbemi.com became my outlet. I shared my heart and soul and triumphs and losses here. I shared everything that God taught me on my journey and sometimes, I just goofed around and you laughed with me too. And as private as I think I have been, you’ve been with me through the phases and milestones in my life – marriage, pregnancy and motherhood. And for this I am grateful. But as you know, those are called phases for a reason, and every phase must end for another to begin.
And so this new phase begins on www.thisadultlife.co. I know that it is a bit cliché to say that I grew through what I went through, but I really did. And publicly too. You’ve watched me waltz through life so far without a manual but what if I can make a guidebook (because life doesn’t come with a manual) out of everything I have learned?
So think of This Adult Life as your guide book through the phases of life. The blog has evolved from a blog that revolves around me to something of a movement, a guide book for young people finding their way through life. And it is beautiful.
I hope that as usual, I can be as honest as possible as I cover the different aspects of life that I have gone through. You know what they say about hindsight and 20-20 vision? Perhaps I can give you that. And what I haven’t gone through, we can learn together. I hope I can show you what I have learned in my career and still show you how my style has evolved. I can teach you the ways in which I’ve grown in my personal relationships while still telling you all about taking care of your pre-term baby because I’ve gone through that. I can teach you how to get your finances on track, because I’ve been through it. And perhaps we can see many new places together.
I hope that you once again journey with me as we explore new frontiers in our lives and living.
So, hello and welcome.
